New York-based Didiom, the “award-winning” mobile media service provider, has this week announced that its Didiom application for on-the-go streaming of computer media to mobile phones is finally making the leap to Research In Motion’s (RIM’s) BlackBerry smartphone.

Available for compatible RIM devices through the BlackBerry App World store, Didiom arrives as a completely free download that enables handset holders to stream songs, playlists, podcasts and audiobooks from their home PC directly over the air to their mobile phone.

Didiom on BlackBerry App World functions with iconic RIM platforms such as the Bold, Curve, Pearl and 8800 series. And, by way of added incentive to grab the app, Didiom is supplying every new user with 25 free (but pre-selected) songs from a pool of recording artists it enthusiastically refers to as “up-and-coming”.

“Didiom doesn’t only eliminate the need for synching your iTunes library with your phone via USB; it also shifts the paradigm on how we mobilize our home computer’s media library,” said Didiom founder and CEO Ran Assaf.

“When you wait for a flight, stand in line at a busy Starbucks, or walk your dog, you can easily access your computer from your phone and stream anything from the latest audiobooks you’ve downloaded from Barnes & Noble to the latest podcasts you’ve downloaded from CNN, The Wall Street Journal or ESPN,” he added.

The application also allows for the portable purchasing of music and audiobooks through Didiom’s own expanding Mobile MP3 Store, which has recently passed two million songs.
