Looking to drum up media interest ahead of some busy summer months in the gaming industry, third-party publisher Electronic Arts (EA) is to host a special software showcase event in London at the tail end of April.
The UK Media Showcase will be held on April 22, with select press representatives invited to attend The Ark in Hammersmith where they will get a first-hand peek at EA’s biggest upcoming releases.
Some of the titles expected to be rolled out on their listed hardware platforms include Dante’s Inferno (PS3), Dragon Age: Origins (PC), Fight Night Round 4 (Xbox 360 and PS3), and Dead Space Extraction (Wii).
Interestingly, EA will also provide access to Grand Slam Tennis (Wii), which has been built from the ground up for Nintendo’s hugely popular home console and will provide enhanced player movement sensitivity thanks to support for the new Wii Motion Plus control dongle.
Other titles available on the day include Need for Speed Nitro (Wii and DS), Need for Speed Shift (PS3), Spore Hero (Wii and DS), Spore Galactic Adventures (PC), EA Sports Active (Wii), Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (Wii and Xbox 360) and new properties Brutal Legend (Xbox 360 and PS3) and The Saboteur (Xbox 360).
The showcase day will consist of a selection of presentations ahead of valuable freeplay time with attending titles and scheduled interviews with various members of EA development staff, including Tom French (executive producer for The Saboteur), Dave McCarthy (vice president of EAC for Grand Slam Tennis), and Jonathan Knight (executive producer for Dante’s Inferno).
