Gamers in Europe looking forward to experiencing unconventional adventure ‘Catherine’ have been left disappointed today after regional publisher Deep Silver slapped the game with a release delay.
Although already available in both Japan and the United States, where it has gathered largely positive critical reviews, Catherine will not arrive in 2011 as expected and is now scheduled to hit UK and European retailers during Q1 of 2012.
The game’s unique story and gameplay revolves around Vincent, who is haunted by a series of bizarre nightmares after cheating on his girlfriend Katherine with a mysterious and seductive blonde called Catherine.
In the game, which is available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, players must guide Vincent past moral puzzles and challenges while battling the horde of evil beasties that populate his guilt-ridden dreams.
Neither Deep Silver nor distributor Koch Media have offered an explanation for the surprise calendar shunt.
