GASP: Goldstriker creates world's most expensive iPhone

$3.2 million, for a PHONE! Image: Goldstriker International.
You like the iPhone, you want an iPhone, but you want an iPhone with a little something extra. You know, something that’ll make your particular handset stand out when brandished at a lavish dinner party for the upper crust or when trying to impress bikini-clad supermodels aboard your luxury cruise liner.
Well, if that’s the lifestyle you lead – and, let’s face it, we all do these days – then the good folk over at exclusive handset maker Goldstriker International would like to tempt your bulging bank balance with the iPhone 3GS Supreme, which is just the smartphone that such recession-busting decadence demands.
The product of 10 months of painstaking work by Goldstriker’s Stuart Hughes, the pictured example of technology-based excess comes attached to a bowel-loosening $3.2 million USD price tag and, thanks to its 22-carat gold casing and 136 diamonds, ably reinforces the notion that looking this cheap is an expensive hobby for the rich.
Commissioned by an unnamed gold magnate from Australia, the ‘jewel’ in this particular crowning achievement is a rare 7.1-carat rock sunk into the smartphone’s ‘Home’ button. Its new owner will receive the iPhone, not in standard box packaging, but in an ornate granite chest with a plush leather lining.
Unsubstantiated rumours (we’ve just started) suggest pressing said 'Home' button instantly transforms the gaudy bastardisation of Apple’s humble gadget into a similarly tasteless coastal abode painted with the blood of the working class.
We’ll pass, thanks.
