If you’re an Xbox 360 owner with a hankering for some upper-tier racing action, chances are you’re not reading this report because you’re already busy wrestling with Forza Motorsport 4.

And why do we suspect this to be the case? Well, mainly because the Microsoft-published exclusive has roared into pole position atop this week’s Individual Formats Chart in the UK.

The software rundown, which is compiled by Chart Track, saw the latest edition of Forza eclipse FIFA 12—but only just—with the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of EA’s soccer heavyweight charting in second and third respectively.

Other notable new entries in the weekly chart include Just Dance 3 on Wii, which secured fourth place, and Pro Evolution Soccer 2012, which managed to take sixth and tenth (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) despite receiving largely lackluster reviews.

Meanwhile, id Software’s eagerly awaited shooter Rage lost sales momentum, slipping from third and fifth (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) to end the week in fifth and eighth respectively.
