Gizza job! Image: Google.

Evidently Google is the place to work in Silicon Valley… or at least it would certainly appear that way considering the surge of job applications recently received by the Mountain View-based technology giant.

Moreover, a massive recruitment drive launched late last week by Google has resulted in more than 75,000 prospective employees rushing for a chance to prove their worth.

While 75,000 applications does seem like a huge number, chances of employment remain fairly high for all those involved as Google is apparently looking to fill some 6,000 open positions.

Those position include specialist areas such as software engineers, product designers, enterprise managers and computer science experts.

Google’s strength within the technology industry is reflected in the expansion of its global workforce, which currently stands are almost 24,500 across 63 offices.

When the company was floated on the stock exchange back in 2004, it employed 3,000 people.
