If you’re curious regarding the personal preferences of Google users, you’ll be pleased to learn that the online titan has released a breakdown of the year’s most popular search terms.

According to the list of Fastest Rising searches, Google users in the United Kingdom were most keen to root out information regarding the ‘Royal Wedding’ of Prince William and Kate Middleton during 2011.

The world of consumer technology is well represented, thanks to interest covering the as-yet unreleased Apple ‘iPhone 5’ (second most popular search), and the Apple ‘iPad2’ tablet computer (fifth most popular search).

Videogame titles ‘FIFA 12’ and ‘Minecraft’ also attracted a lot of Fastest Rising momentum, placing in third and eighth respectively.

Other entrants on the list of leading searches include the likes of ‘Groupon’ (fourth), warbling songstress ‘Adele’ (seventh), and singing sensations ‘Rebecca Black’ and ‘Ed Sheeran’ (ninth and tenth respectively).

In a separate list covering searches for consumer electronics gadgets, the ‘iPod Touch 5G’ ranks highest, followed by the doomed ‘HP Touchpad’, ‘Acer Aspire 5472’, ‘ASUS Transformer’ tablet, and the ‘Dell Inspiron Duo’.

Meanwhile, where overall search popularity is concerned, 2011’s leading search term is ‘Facebook’, with ‘YouTube’, ‘Hotmail’, ‘eBay’, and ‘Google’ following close behind.
