Google's next online acquisition? Image: AdMeld.
If current swirling reports are to be believed, technology titan Google is on the verge of penning a $400 million USD deal that will see it adding advertising specialist AdMeld to its steadily expanding company portfolio.
Although both parties are remaining tightlipped regarding the progress of any ongoing discussions, the capture of AdMeld would likely see Google strengthening its already considerable online positioning via the premium content publishers AdMeld is associated with.
If the rumoured deal is indeed concrete—the usual raft of FTC regulatory checks notwithstanding—Google’s purchase of AdMeld will be the twelfth acquisition the online heavyweight has made since January of this year.
The New York-based ad company, which serves the likes of Fox News, The Weather Channel and the IDG TechNetwork, was founded in 2007 and currently boasts international offices in Berlin, London, San Francisco and Toronto.
Other recent ad-driven purchases completed by Google include the likes of Invite Media, Terracent and AdMob.
