If you believe Apple fans, computers and gadgets made by the Cupertino-based technology specialist are easy to use, endlessly reliable and largely devoid of operation deficiency.
However, for one angry user in the United States, his iPhone handset became such a nuisance he was prepared to shoot it dead – literally.
More pointedly, disgruntled and hot-headed iPhone owner Daniel Goodrich now faces criminal charges after allegedly brandishing a pistol before a shocked female Apple Store employee and threatening to “pop a 9mm” into his malfunctioning smartphone.
Thinking quick on her feet, the Apple Store staff member promptly diverted Goodrich and his deceased iPhone to a Genius Bar technician before promptly informing the store manager, who alerted the police to the unfolding situation.
Duly distracted by the false hope of a newly resurrected smartphone, Goodrich’s problems only magnified when officers arrived and charged the 38-year-old resident of Westwood, Ohio, with displaying aggravated menacing behaviour, carrying a concealed weapon, and causing fear of harm within the Kenwood Towne Center mall.
