Expanding the multimedia appeal of the iPhone yet further, fans of Justin.tv will be thrilled to hear that the popular live video streaming service has finally arrived on Apple’s smartphone via the official App Store.

The mobile version of Justin.tv represents the latest in a steady line of live streaming apps to arrive on the iPhone, including rival services such Ustream, Kyte and Qik. And, according to CEO Michael Seibel, users are likely to forgive the delay simply because the company didn’t want to launch on iPhone until the app was fully ready.

“We tried not to cut corners,” he commented in a Washington Post article.

In terms of what Justin.tv fans can expect from the download, the company has outlined that all live videos and channels found on the central Internet site will be open to the iPhone application.

The app will also include a handy search feature for improved navigation, the ability to save channels as favourites, text-based user chat, and both portrait and landscape viewing.

A future update to the app will introduce live video streaming that will enable users to broadcast directly from their host iPhone, as well as receive free push notifications that are dispatched whenever favourite channels are running live.
