When it comes to comparing the Kindle Fire against the iPad at a fundamental level, Amazon’s hot-selling, pocket-friendly tablet is less expensive, less powerful, and less capable than Apple’s iconic platform.
Maintaining that trend, a new report has found that Kindle Fire owners are also significantly less satisfied with their tablet experience than those who splashed the cash on an iPad.
The survey in question, which was conducted by U.S. research specialist Changewave, found that only 54 percent of polled Kindle Fire owners described themselves as “very satisfied” with Amazon’s debut tablet.
Meanwhile, 74 percent of those favoring Apple’s tablet computer said they were “very satisfied” with the overall iPad experience.
Looking a little closer at related reasoning, while Kindle Fire owners were pleased by the hardware’s low cost ($199 USD), its color display, and ease of use, they were less enthused by it not having a camera, the lack of a volume adjustment button, and the touchscreen’s restrictive sizing.
Other points Kindle Fire users said they’d like to see addressed included improved single-charge battery longevity, and a greater selection of software applications through the official Amazon app store.
