Building on the reputation of its C63 AMG sedan, top-tier German automotive giant Mercedes-Benz has this week shone the spotlight of anticipation on the (even more) swaggering and sexy C63 AMG coupe.

Blending performance with luxury, the C63 AMG coupe boasts a fairly blistering 0-60mph time of just 4.4 seconds thanks a growling M156 engine capable of pumping out 451 horsepower, 443lb-ft of torque, and a tarmac-shredding top speed of 155mph.

“Visually, the coupe version of the C63 AMG has a confident, athletic presence that is reminiscent of the high performance SL63 AMG roadster,” enthused Mercedes with regard to its latest slice of engineering.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that Mercedes has capped the car’s already-muscular 6.2 litre (V8) performance via electronic limiting technology, which is apparently in place to prevent more reckless drivers from risking a premature demise.

Other points of interest likely to loosen the pocketbooks of those more affluent road users include, a seven-speed multiclutch transmission (MCT), an optional development package (up to 481 horsepower), and the Command entertainment and navigation system.

The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG coupe is due to receive its official unveiling during April’s New York Auto Show. It’s expected to be in showrooms across the United States by September.

The C63 AMG coupe’s accompanying price has not yet been confirmed.
