If you’re a Microsoft fan drooling profusely at the prospect of getting your grubby software-loving paws on Windows 8, you’ll be thrilled to learn that its arrival is almost upon us.
More pointedly, the Redmond-based giant has this week confirmed that a public beta release of its upcoming computer operating system will be pushed through download channels in late February of 2012.
If prior lapsed times between the preview build, public beta and formal release are anything to go by, the finished version of Windows 8 should be available during Q3 of next year.
If February is too long to wait when it comes to sampling the associated delights of Windows 8, a preview build for developers is currently open for download—just remember that it’s likely to be littered with bugs and wholly unstable.
Sadly, Microsoft has not yet offered any further details regarding the fixtures and fittings prospective Windows 8 users can look forward to upon arrival.
In related news, Microsoft also used the announcement platform to reveal that app haven Windows Store will also throw open its virtual doors when the Windows 8 beta opens.
