Continuing its drive to push official web browser updates at intervals of every six weeks, open-source specialist Mozilla Corp. has this week launched Firefox 10 into the release channel.
Available for systems running Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Android, the new update includes a number of improvements, including eight separate security tweaks and a significant change to how add-on software is integrated.
“Most add-ons are now compatible with new versions of Firefox by default,” the developer notes, while also revealing the introduction of Anti-Aliasing for WebGL and support for CSS3 3D-Transforms.
Other new aspects include Full Screen APIs for the crafting of full-screen HTML5 web applications, a new <bdi> element for bi-directional text isolation, and the support of CSS properties.
In terms of notable fixes, Firefox 10 apparently addresses crashable conflicts caused by Java for Mac OS X users, and other issues connected with the selection and shifting of bookmarks.
The full—and really quite extensive—list of changes, tweaks, and fixes can be perused at your leisure by clicking this safe and direct link.
