Muppets bow to the Queen in Bohemian Rhapsody cover

I'm just a poor boy. Boy? Image: Jim Henson's Creature Shop.

While today’s presidential prank story has already pushed the boundaries of qualification where ‘security’ is concerned, we’ve chosen to post the following clip in the ‘entertainment’ category because it’s puppet-based technology in action, it’s certainly entertaining, and it references video conferencing. There, justified.

Making any and all Bohemian Rhapsody cover versions before it look positively dull and uninspired (the famous Wayne’s World car scene included), the talented folks over at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop have put together a fabulous music video that pays homage to Queen’s roaring rock anthem.

Employing that special blend of mimicry and parody synonymous with The Muppets, more than a million people viewed the video within 24 hours of its being posted to the Net; and, given that it includes virtually every major Muppet character strutting their stuff (chickens too), we’re only too happy to further its saturation.

Simply put, if you’re a child of the 70s and 80s, or just a Muppet fan in general, and you’re having a bad day, enjoy five minutes of online gold and allow the likes of Gonzo, Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, The Swedish Chef, Beaker, Dr. Bunson Honeydew, Sam the Eagle, Crazy Harry and Pepe to put a smile back on your face.

And remember, as Miss Piggy so beautifully warbles, “Nothing really matters… Nothing really matters… but MOI!” As camp as Christmas, the late, great Freddie Mercury would so approve.
