For many, Apple’s beautifully slender MacBook Air is the epitome of desirable slimline portable computing. However, PC manufacturing giant Dell Inc. might have something to say about that given the super svelte profile of its upcoming new and improved Adamo notebook.
Specifically, Dell has this week unveiled a teaser image for its latest Adamo-branded platform, which is a high-end notebook Dell claims has been “crafted to fall in love with,” thanks, in the main, to a system ‘thickness’ of just 9.99mm.
And no, it hasn’t gone unnoticed that Dell’s initial concept glimpse was offered on 09/09/09, which, nod to physical parameters aside, is also the same date Apple Inc. hosted its annual product refreshment event in San Francisco.
When quizzed by tech site V3 with a view to attaining more meaty hardware details, a Dell spokesperson said “more is to come” but refused to divulge information on the notebook’s technical capabilities, total system weight, the when and where of retail availability, or regional price points.
If Dell does indeed deliver a revamped Adamo platform with a 9.99mm profile, it will be a significant improvement over the 16.4mm thickness of the existing Adamo and the 19.3mm of the MacBook Air.
