Nintendo announces holiday season DSi XL bundles

With Christmas creeping ever closer, retail shelves will soon be fit-to-bursting with all manner of packages and deals designed to separate tech lovers from their dead presidents.

By way of example, Japanese videogame heavyweight Nintendo announced a selection of ‘holiday season’ hardware bundles created to cater for fans of its market-leading DS portable console.

The bundles in question target male and female gamers separately and include the larger DSi XL platform in color choices of either Metallic Rose or Midnight Blue.

Adding a little extra seasonal spice into the mix, the special packs also come with action puzzle adventure Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem and pre-installed versions of Brain Age Express: Math, Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters, and Photo Clock.

Scheduled to hit retailers from this coming November 6, the pink and blue DSi XL bundles will cost $169.99 USD each.   

In related news, Nintendo earlier this week announced the arrival of two new colors for its 3DS console in Europe.

From November 18, prospective buyers across the pond will be able to purchase the autostereoscopic gaming platform in new Ice White and Coral Pink.
