Nintendo has unveiled its upcoming software lineup in an effort to push back against those who complain its casual-centric consoles are lacking where genuine game variety is concerned.

More pointedly, 2012 should start well for 3DS owners thanks to the likes of survival horror sequel Resident Evil: Revelations (Feb. 7), stealth action epic Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater (Q1), and the hotly anticipated Kid Icarus: Uprising (March 23).

Meanwhile, Wii owners can look forward to the arrival of Rhythm Heaven (Feb. 13), PokePark 2: Wonders Beyond (Feb. 27), and then mini-games galore through Mario Party 9 (March 11).

Other titles due to roll out in the early part of 2012 include Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 (3DS), Tekken 3D (3DS), Rayman Origins (3DS), MLB 2K12 (Wii), and Country Dance: Special Edition (Wii).

Nintendo fans will also be getting some Q1 love courtesy of downloads through the dedicated online eShop, which will be pushing out the likes of Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword, Mighty Switch Force, Zen Pinball, Jett Rocket Super Surf, and Kirby’s Block Ball.

In related news, Nintendo is also bolstering the appeal of its 3DS platform via the Circle Pad Pro control cradle, which provides mobile gamers with a second analogue stick and additional shoulder buttons for just $19.99 USD.
