Having recently admitted that the launch of its 3DS console didn’t receive adequate software support, gaming giant Nintendo has this week unveiled a gamut of upcoming titles for its groundbreaking gadget. Better late than never, eh?

Four first-party offerings will carry heroic Italian plumber Mario—one of which has been confirmed as Mario Tennis—while other titles revealed include Monster Hunter 4, Ace Combat 3D, Dynasty Warriors and Fire Emblem.

“From the end of this year to the beginning of the next, we are planning the kind of extensive line-up that has probably never been seen before in the history of video games,” trumpeted Nintendo president Satoru Iwata before the opening of Japan’s Tokyo Games Show (TGS).

“We will make an all-out effort to see that the 3DS sells enough to become the successor to the 3DS,” he added in a Reuters report.

Throwing in an extra dimension to the appeal of its glasses-free 3D console, Nintendo has also said it will update the system so that its built-in camera technology is able to capture 3D video.

Despite Nintendo’s renewed bluster, the 3DS has largely failed to capture the imagination of global gamers since its launch at the end of February.

As such, the Japanese titan hacked down the console’s price from $250 USD to just $170 USD on August 11—causing an immediate but short-lived 260 percent sales spike.
