In yet more budget-friendly news, gadget lovers unable to find enough cash for Apple’s iPhone 4S, or unwilling to commit to a 24-month data contract, can now enjoy the iconic handset through a convenient rental scheme.
Available to UK consumers via mobile provider O2, the leasing agreement covers a 12-month period and enables users to sidestep any financial outlay for the smartphone itself.
Seeing as O2 customers will only be renting Apple’s popular device, they will, of course, be expected to hand it back once the 12-month lease comes to a close.
“With O2 Lease, the phone isn’t yours and if you don’t return it in satisfactory condition at the end of your lease, you may have to pay substantial charges,” the company outlines.
Renewing the lease would also be an option but, considering that Apple refreshes its products annually, trading up for latest iPhone could perhaps be more advantageous.
In terms of talk time, text allocation and data coverage, O2 Lease offers up 750 minutes of talk, unlimited texting, 500MBs of data.
It will also provide lease customers with unlimited access to UK Wi-Fi, 20 UK picture messages, and handset insurance (worth £12 GBP per month).
And the damage to your pocket? Well, O2 wants £55 GBP per month for rental of the 16GB iPhone 4S or £65 GBP for the 32GB model.
