Although Gran Turismo 5 was released for the PlayStation 3 almost a year ago, videogame developer Polyphony Digital is still striving to support its long-awaited racing title with worthwhile extra content.

Take, for example, the four new download packs released this week, all of which offer something a little different to meet the needs of every virtual driver.

First up is the Course Pack, which provides series fans with two new racetracks to shred rubber on—Kart Space I/II and Spa Francorchamps, the latter of which includes variable weather effects.

Then there’s the Racing Car pack, which, as the name suggests, delivers access to 15 vehicles, including the hulking Red Bull X2011, the evolution model of the Red Bull X2010, and a selection of suped-up touring cars and kart racers.

The Racing Gear pack is crammed with 90 associated accessories, such as the helmets and driving suits of eight drivers plucked from the World Rally Championship and NASCAR.

And, bringing up the rear is the modest Paint Pack, which carries 10 game themes and throws an extra 100 colours into the mix for those Gran Turismo players who love to tinker with chassis designs while off the racetrack.

But wait, we’re not finished. While there are indeed four separate DLC packs to choose from, Sony and Polyphony are also offering all of the above in a single Complete Pack.

In terms of pocket impact, the Complete Pack costs $11.99 USD, while the Paint Pack and Racing Gear Pack cost $1.99 USD each, the Course Pack costs $4.99 USD, and the Racing Car Pack stings to the tune of $7.99 USD.

All of the packs will be available from the PlayStation Network (PSN) on October 18.
