If you fancy leaping aboard the rumbling iPad bandwagon, but don't want to splash the cash for the second-generation model, you could perhaps take advantage of the discounts Apple recently announced for its original iPad.
However, if that's the case, we'd suggest you get your skates on because the hugely popular first-edition tablet is flying off shelves as Apple strives to clear its stores of old stock.
According to a sales report originating on macgasm.net, the basic 16GB Wi-Fi version of the iPad has already sold out due to consumers flocking towards its lowered price of $349 USD—a solid $150 USD plunge from the device's initial retail tag.
That now leaves the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB iterations of the original 3G iPad residing in the clearance section, where they are presently selling for respective prices of $529 USD, $629 USD and $729 USD.
However, if purchasing a refurbished iPad floats your boat, Apple is offering the 32GB and 64GB Wi-Fi iPad for $429 USD and $529 USD, while the above 3G models are priced at $479 USD, $559 USD and $659 USD.
All models, both clearance and refurbished, come with full Apple warranties.
