Always keen to keep its product line fresh-faced and appealing, Apple has become well known for revising or refreshing its hardware platforms at least once a year.
And, holding to that business-savvy trend, the Cupertino-based gadget titan is prepping the iPad3 for a spring 2012 arrival—if a DigiTimes report is to be believed.
Citing unnamed sources within Apple’s supply chain, the report outlines that production of the iPad2 will decrease during Q1 of 2012 ahead of the iPad3’s launch between mid-March and mid-April.
Further to that, Apple’s longstanding production partner Foxconn will apparently be handling the lion’s share of initial iPad3 manufacturing, and will be aiming to craft around 10 million units by the close of February.
Although Apple is, of course, remaining tightlipped about its next-generation tablet, the proffered arrival dates aren’t much of a stretch given the iPad line’s existing launch history.
Specifically, the original iPad was released to retail on April 3 of 2010, while the iPad 2 hit Apple outlets on March 11 of 2011.
