With prominent PC manufacturers such as Hewlett-Packard (HP), Toshiba and Dell having already updated their product lines with Intel’s latest Core (i3/i5/i7) processing technology, rumours are gathering momentum regarding Apple’s adoption.

More pointedly, Apple watchers over at Macrumors believe the online appearance of new MacBook part numbers indicates that Jobs & Co. are preparing to welcome the mobile iterations of Intel’s latest architecture into the Cupertino fold.

According to Macrumours, it has received “independent confirmation” regarding the part numbers, which means expectant Apple fans can look forward to the imminent arrival of 15-inch and 17-inch MacBooks carrying Core i5 and Core i7 processors.

Current whispers regarding the planned unveiling of Apple’s revamped MacBooks suggests the computer and gadgetry giant could move to whip the covers off as early as tomorrow (April 13).

Apple has, of course, offered no official comment on the story.
