With stylish action adventure Bayonetta quickly establishing itself as one of the most eagerly awaited videogames on the release horizon, publisher SEGA has finally confirmed the bespectacled heroine’s arrival for both the United States and Europe.

More pointedly, if you have a hankering for Bayonetta’s sexily brutal battles, cheesy quips, and screaming guitars – in the same vein as genre heavyweights Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden – then January 05 will see U.S. gamers clambering for the checkout, while expectant European buyers can snap the game up on January 08.

News of Bayonetta’s more expansive retail spread arrives the day after publisher SEGA and renowned developer Platinum Games (MadWorld, God Hand) officially unleashed the game upon gamers in Japan.

Here’s a little extra nugget of temptation for prospective Bayonetta fans downtrodden at the thought of waiting more than two months for a game Japanese review specialist Famitsu recently awarded 40/40 (on the Xbox 360):

The Japanese PlayStation 3 edition of Bayonetta, while wrapped by Japanese box text and a Japanese instruction manual, is not region locked and comes with an English in-game language option, which means a quick visit to an online import retailer will secure the game well in advance of its official arrival – though be prepared to shell out a few extra dollars/pounds/Euros for the privilege.

The above U.S. and European retail dates apply to both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions. Do it. Do it now.
