The ongoing legal battle betwixt gadget giants Apple and Samsung has taken yet another turn today after a court in Germany ruled that Samsung’s subtly amended Galaxy 10.1N tablet computer is fit for sale in the region.
The ruling enables Samsung to sidestep an initial sales ban placed upon its Galaxy tablet in September of 2011 after Apple launched a complaint citing design similarities and intellectual property violations connected to the iPad.
By way of combating the region-specific sales ban, Samsung duly made certain aesthetic changes to its Galaxy Tab blueprint and offered up the resulting 10.1N computer for the court’s consideration.
And, according to a state court in Dusseldorf, those tweaks now make the Galaxy Tab sufficiently different from the iPad and Samsung is once again clear to sell its system—although the 10.1N will only be available in Germany.
This latest legal decision in favor of Samsung comes after similar Galaxy Tab complaints from Apple were dismissed in regions such as Australia, the Netherlands, and the United States.
