Sassy. Fact. Image: Samsung.

If you’re looking for a slender and stylish slice of mobile hardware to help enhance your on-the-go computing, you may want to steal a glance at Samsung’s svelte new Q Series, which promises powerful portability, a skinny form factor, and a distinctly pleasing design.

Equipped with HD LED screen sizes ranging from 13.3 inches (Q330), 14 inches (Q430) and 15.6 inches (the flagship Q530), Samsung’s latest hardware arrivals are described as “the most exciting, powerful and stylish mobile computing experiences on the market.”

Hmm, while Dell’s line of steroid-fed Alienware notebooks might take issue with the “exciting” and “powerful” parts of that statement, we won’t quibble with the whole “stylish” bit – the Q Series certainly looks the part.

In terms of hardware, Samsung’s new arrivals carry a selection of Intel Core i3 and Intel Core i5 processors (2.13GHz to 2.4GHz), with the latter boasting enough muscle for users to create HD video, compose digital music, edit photos and play demanding PC games.

There’s also the choice of NVIDIA’s GeForce GT 330M graphics card (in the Q530 and Q430), which is capable of pushing advanced 3D graphics and running high-definition movies thanks to a solid 1GB of dedicated DDR3 memory. The Q330 comes with a GeForce 310M.

Other contributing features spread throughout the Q Series include up to 4GBs of RAM, 500GBs of HDD storage, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 3.0, USB and HDMI ports, support for AllShare and DLNA, a 3-in-1 card reader, a built-in Optical Disk Drive and up to seven hours of single-charge battery life.

The Samsung Q Series will hit UK retail before the close of July, with a starting price of 600 GBP attached to the baseline Q330.
