Specifically, the latest episode of The Simpsons sees various members of the cast visiting a newly opened 'Mapple Store' in Springfield, at which point they are greeted by a “sterile” interior, typically soulless retail employees, a wealth of 'MyPods' and 'MyPhones,' and a video link keynote message from Mapple “chief imaginative officer” Steve Mobs.

During the particularly cutting episode, Lisa discovers that Mapple's company slogan is not “think differently,” but “no refunds,” and that she still requires $40 to purchase fake “MyPhonies” to project an image suggesting the actual ownership of an unobtainable Mapple-branded device.

Perhaps the funniest scene of the episode involves Bart using the store's speaker system to dub over the Steve Mobs address and reveal some corporate secrets to the gathered throngs of fanatical Mapple fans ready to splash the cash upon Mobs' instruction.

“You think you're cool because you buy a $500 phone with a picture of a fruit on it... Well guess what? They cost eight bucks to make and I pee on every one,” opens Bart to a bewildered crowd of cash-in-hand customers that hail Mobs as “like a God who knows what we want.”

“I've made a fortune off you chumps, and I've invested it all in Microsoft,” adds Bart as the onlookers grow angry towards Mobs. “Now my boyfriend Bill Gates and I kiss each other on a pile of your money.”

When the video wall is destroyed and his prank is uncovered, Bart is subsequently chased from the cube-shaped Mapple Store by a posse of staff ordered to whip him into submission with their iconic white ear buds.
