Pushing the appeal of its increasingly popular software application for Android-powered mobile devices, VoIP specialist Skype has announced the downloadable arrival of Skype Video Calling.
Available through the new Skype for Android 2.0 update, Skype Video Calling enables mobile users to engage in free 1-to-1 video chats with other Skype users armed with compatible Android devices, iPhone and Mac devices, Windows PCs and even home TVs.
“With approximately 30 million concurrent users logging into Skype at any given moment and making up to half a million simultaneous video calls, Skype for Android with video makes it even easier for users to share moments with their contacts wherever that are,” enthused Neil Stevens, vice president and general manager for Skype product and marketing.
Not limited to only introducing video calls, Skype for Android 2.0 also boasts a complete redesign of the Skype for Android user interface—which includes a new main menu and a new mood message box.
