Looking to add further polish and appeal to its PlayStation brand, Sony has used this week’s Destination PlayStation event to confirm that critically acclaimed platform game LittleBigPlanet (LBP) will be bringing its innovative blend of platform action and level creation to the PlayStation Portable handheld this autumn.
The much-rumoured portable version of LittleBigPlanet will include new levels and will also feature the ‘play, create and share’ features that were so roundly applauded by reviewers of the PlayStation 3 original when it was released in the latter part of 2008.
However, although certainly a highly likely function for the portable edition of LBP, Sony is yet to confirm the addition of cross-platform compatibility.
In related news, Sony has also unveiled two new PlayStation Portable bundles providing themed hardware connected to Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed and Disney’s Hannah Montana. The Assassin’s Creed bundle will come with a special Piano Black PSP, while the Hannah Montana console will be presented in a bold Lilac.
In terms of exclusive features, details have not been revealed for the Assassin’s Creed pack. However, the $199 USD Hannah Montana bundle will include a new Hannah Montana rhythm game, a UMD disc holding several episodes of Disney’s hit show, a 2GB memory stick, and a Hannah Montana sticker pack.
