If you’re in the market for a robust snapper with which to capture photographs while on an adventure holiday or working in the great outdoors, you may want to consider Sony’s new TX20.

The little Cyber-shot TX20 belies its compact size and rather unassuming aesthetics thanks to being armed with a 16.2 mega-pixel Exmor R CMOS sensor, a 4x optical zoom, and support for full HD video recording.

And, of course, should you wish to venture across rugged environments during spells of inclement weather, the fact that Sony’s latest offering is waterproof (to five meters), dustproof, freeze-proof, and shockproof (to 1.5 meters) should instill nothing but camera-happy confidence.

Other fixtures and fittings aboard the TX20 include a 3.0-inch LCD touch-screen display (92k), the BIONZ image processor, an ISO range of 125-3200, Clear Image Zoom technology (which effectively doubles the zoom range to 8x), high-speed shooting up to 10fps, enhanced Noise Reduction, and a Low-Light Shooting mode.

Wait, we’re not quite done. There’s also Tracking Focus, Background Defocus, detail optimization via By Pixel Super Resolution, Sweep Panorama shooting, optical Steady Shot, and a selection of Artistic Picture Effect modes including Toy Camera, Pop Color, Miniature, and Watercolor.

Sony has not yet said how much its TX20 will cost or when it will hit retail. When we know, you’ll know.

Man wins Batman version of Nissan Juke

A BATMAN fan has won a special version of the Nissan Juke inspired by the films — and which has a string of features more normally seen on the Batmobile.
