Steve Wozniak set to dance with the stars

The celebrity line-up for the new series of “Dancing with the Stars” has been confirmed this week. And, while the likes of singing sensation Jewel and Olympic gold medal winner Shawn Johnson are likely to rouse a degree of interest with the TV masses, one name from the tech world may leave some scratching their heads.

More pointedly, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has joined 12 other celebrities that will have their twinkle-toed prowess (or lack thereof) scrutinised and scored before an adoring public as the popular show prepares to enter its eighth season on ABC.

Beyond welcoming Wozniak into the ballroom fray, the forthcoming series is also notable for including celebrity couples that will dance both with and against each other.

Specifically, warbler Jewel will be facing off against rodeo champion husband Ty Murray, while country singer Chuck Wicks will partner with professional dancer and two-time series champion Julianne Hough.

Other names of note on the list include female hip-hop artist Lil’ Kim, American football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor, 1980’s pop idol Belinda Carlisle, actress Denise Richards, fearless Jackass star Steve-O, and actor-comedian David Alan Grier.
