Another day, another fresh-faced mobile phone from the bulging T-Mobile stables. Having already shone the spotlight on its upcoming BlackBerry Curve 8520, T-Mobile USA continues to fill the week with imminent handset goodness in the shape of the new Touch Pro2 from HTC.
Set to arrive at retail from August 12, the mocha Touch Pro2 will come equipped with a sassy 3.6-inch WVGA display screen that not only slides and tilts to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard but also boasts a full touch-sensitive user interface.
Supported by T-Mobile’s expanding high-speed 3G network and also Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) connectivity, the Touch Pro2 offers users swift data delivery and “an enhanced Web-browsing experience” bolstered by built-in GPS functionality and location-based services.
“The HTC Touch Pro2 offers the most powerful productivity experience available on a mobile phone, while also delivering unparalleled elegance in both its exterior and user interface design,” trumpeted Jason MacKenzie, VP of HTC America.
“HTC and T-Mobile have a history of introducing groundbreaking products, and this collaboration continues with the debut of this highly anticipated device to the U.S. market,” he continued.
Other contributing points of attraction crammed into the Touch Pro2 include a solid 3.2 mega pixel camera (with auto focus) for capturing still images and video content, integrated e-mail, voice and speakerphone capabilities via StraightTalk technology, a customised version of the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system, Microsoft Voice Command for the delivery of simply vocal instructions, and stereo Bluetooth.
Pricing and further regional availability has not yet been announced.
