If you’re in the market for a tablet, and your gadget purchases are generally dictated by little more than a device’s profile and weight, Toshiba might just have exactly what your shallow eyes are looking for.
More pointedly, the Japanese hardware maker has promised to unveil the world’s thinnest and lightest tablet computer during next week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Although little else is known about said device, it will supposedly come with a 10.1-inch touchscreen and could include OLED technology given Toshiba will apparently be rolling out a robust OLED reference tablet that’s totally waterproof.
In related news, Toshiba has also said it will use the CES platform to introduce a similarly super skinny and super lightweight 13.3-inch Ultrabook computer and a 55-inch QFHD television with glasses-free 3D.
By way of reaction, industry watchers have suggested the aforementioned tablet and notebook are actually the Excite slate and Portege Z830 that Toshiba first began trumpeting back in Q3 of 2011.
