Verizon Wireless ties down the Samsung Rogue

Prospective handset buyers looking for a communication-rich mobile experience may want to take a moment to access the worth of Samsung’s new Rogue handset, which is built around optimised messaging features.

The Samsung Rogue comes equipped with a full touch-screen display, threaded messaging and one-touch access to popular social networks and share-based services such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Photobucket.

Adding to the Rogue’s allure as a capable communications device, the handset also includes a horizontal slide-out QWERTY keyboard for easy manual text input, and also Nuance-powered speech recognition that allows users to deliver message text dictation and voice commands for a variety of on-board applications.

Core technical specifications attached to the Rogue include a 3.1-inch WVGA AMOLED touch-sensitive screen, a full HTML Web browser, a 3.0 mega pixel camera, and microSD memory expansion through to 16GBs.

Stocked with a wealth of messaging, media and navigational capabilities, the Rogue can handle SMS, MMS, Mobile IM, Mobile Email, Corporate Email and Visual Voice Mail along with support for V CAST Music with Rhapsody, V Cast Video, VZ Navigator and Chaperone.

The Samsung Rogue handset is available for customers in the United States through the high-speed Verizon Wireless network (3G) on monthly data plans of $9.99 USD for 25MBs and $19.99 USD for 75MBs.

The handset will cost $99.99 USD after a mail-in rebate of $100 USD, when attached to a mandatory two-year contract.
