How far is too far when it comes to tough love and no-nonsense parenting? Well, for one dad in North Carolina, his limit evidently lies somewhere beyond unloading a high-powered handgun in the direction of his disrespectful and ungrateful child’s computer.

Moreover, when IT professional Tommy Jordan discovered an expletive-riddled Facebook post composed by his 15-year-old daughter Hannah, in which she blasted her parents and bemoaned the amount of household chores she had to do, he opted to teach her a lesson by shooting her laptop.

And, best of all, Mr. Jordan decided to video the hardware destruction for the viewing pleasure of similarly deflated and disappointed parents everywhere—a move that has seen the resulting YouTube clip go viral.

“Today was probably the most disappointing day of my life as a father and I don’t know how to correct the situation,” he explained. “Since I can’t seem to make any headway with my daughter on Facebook, I chose instead to remedy the situation permanently.”

“We’ve always told her that what you put online can effect you forever,” he added. “Once you put it out there, you can’t take it back, so think carefully before you use the Internet to broadcast your thoughts and feelings.”

Although parenting experts and anti-gun activists have spoken out against Mr. Jordan’s somewhat extreme solution, the eight-minute video clip has received no shortage of applause from put-upon mothers and fathers across the globe.

While not wishing to spoil the full effect of the video, we will just say that Hannah’s furious post “To my parents”, which Mr. Jordan reads out prior to the gunfire, starts with the following line of teen vitriol:

“I’m not your damn slave. It’s not my responsibility to clean up your shit. We have a cleaning lady for a reason. Her name is Linda… not Hannah!'

Take a look at the video, which currently has more than 21 million views, and then let us know what you think.
