Sounds like a winner. Image: HTC.

If you’re looking for a smartphone capable of delivering the goods where music is concerned—and we’re talking the actual aural experience as well as media compatibility—then the following snippet may interest you.

What you’re looking at here is the codename ‘Runnymeade’ handset, which, while sounding not unlike a spilt alcoholic beverage from days of yore, is a new HTC smartphone bolstered by Dr. Dre’s renowned Beats Audio. Boom!

Although not yet formally named by HTC, rumour has it the phone will eventually be called either the ‘Bass’ or the ‘Sensation XL’. Either way, a leaked YouTube clip that supposedly showcases the device in all its glory briefly found its way online earlier today.

The clip in question, which was quickly pulled from YouTube but salvaged and reposted by our tech-loving friends at Engadget (click to view), reveals clear Beats Audio and Vodafone branding—and a glorious 4.7-inch touch-screen display.

Other music-related aspects include a configuration-based choice between Beats in-ear or Beats over-the-ear headphones. Whatever it ends up being called, HTC’s smartphone with Beats Audio is expected to launch on October 7.

We’ll bring you more as and when we get it.
