Caught between an iPhone-shaped rock and a BlackBerry-coloured hard place when it comes to deciding which smartphone to throw your hard-earned green at? If so, then perhaps those lovely folks over at Walmart have just the tempting deal to can help coax a decision from your confused wallet.

Specifically, the heavyweight American retail chain is running a one-week promotion from November 14 that will see customers bestowed with a $100 USD gift card when they willingly splash the cash for one of Research In Motion's iconic BlackBerry smartphones.

Of course, as is the way with the majority of mobile phone purchases these days, prospective BlackBerry buyers looking to take advantage of the gift card offer will also have to embrace a mandatory two-year service contract through telecommunication carriers AT&T, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless.

Some of the BlackBerry handsets available through Walmart include the Curve 8310 (AT&T), the Curve 8330 (Sprint), the BlackBerry 8520 (T-Mobile), and the flip-style Storm (Verizon).

The gift card promotion is set to arrive as Walmart's latest round of tempting offers as it continues to build consumer momentum towards the traditionally busy Black Friday surge that falls across the Thanksgiving weekend.
