Although there have been a few high-profile titles to help break the usual summer software drought suffered by videogame fans, it would appear consumers over the pond are investing their gameplay hours somewhere rather unexpected.

Moreover, the likes of L.A. Noire, F.E.A.R. 3 and InFamous 2 have all fallen to the lure of dance-based fitness craze Zumba, which has made a successful transition from exercise studio to home console.

Published across multiple platforms by 505 Games, Zumba Fitness is gyrating atop the UK All Formats Chart for the third consecutive week—and has been the nation’s favourite for a total of six weeks since release.

In quantifying the dance game’s wide-ranging consumer appeal, GfK Chart-Track has revealed that Zumba Fitness this week outsold all four of the chart’s remaining top-five titles combined.

Those games were second placed LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, third-placed L.A. Noire, fourth placed F.E.A.R. 3 and Virtua Tennis 4—the latter of which shot back up the chart from 15 to five due to London’s Wimbledon tennis championships.
