If you thought ‘iSteve: The Book of Jobs’ smacked of being a tad childish and egotistical as a title for the official biography of Apple’s chief executive officer—evidently you weren’t alone.
More pointedly, Fortune reports that author Walter Isaacson has taken exception to the book’s title, which was apparently chosen by publisher Simon & Schuster, and has successfully pressed for its removal.
The eagerly anticipated biography of the tech world’s most iconic CEO has now been renamed as simply ‘Steve Jobs’ by Walter Isaacson, apparently after the author reacted to family pressure and campaigned for something for fitting.
Set to arrive as the first Jobs biography created with the direct assistance and approval of Apple’s head honcho, ‘Steve Jobs’ by Walter Isaacson is expected to hit retail shelves in March of next year.
While we think the book’s new title has about as much verve as the bland black turtleneck and blue jeans combo Jobs seemingly wears on a daily basis, it’s hard to disagree that it fits perfectly with the reputation of simplicity and elegance Apple has nurtured in recent years.
Pre-orders for the biography are already open through Amazon, which has priced the hardback version at $17.50 USD.
