The OnePlus 9 smartphone isn’t a stranger to leaks. A fresh set of clear images, however, offer one of the best views of the unreleased “Flagship Killer” from OnePlus.
The successor to OnePlus 8T or the OnePlus 8T Pro, depending on the region, has been in the news for quite some time. The newly leaked images allow eager buyers a good and clear perspective about what to expect from the company that regularly challenges Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi.
OnePlus 9 new leaked images confirm front and rear camera setup, display, and other specifications?
An anonymous source has shared a series of images of an actual OnePlus 9 pre-production unit. There are a few claims about the specifications as well. Interestingly, frequent OnePlus tipster, Max Jambor has corroborated the information, adding credibility to the claims.
The images show the alleged OnePlus 9 from the front as well as the back. The smartphone is pictured in a gray-silver finish with three camera sensors at the back. While one image sensor appears to be standard-sized, the rest of the camera sensors appear quite large.
The tipster hasn’t indicated the specifications of the camera sensors. However, previous reports claim the OnePlus 9 will have two high-resolution camera sensors. A 48MP sensor will serve as the primary rear camera. The other camera, presumably packing a 16MP sensor, is most likely meant to gather more visual data to offer either a wide-angle shot or merely improve the image composition and detail. The third, and smaller camera, has a monochrome or macro sensor.
The alleged OnePlus 9 appears to have a punch-hole front-facing camera that is located on the top-left side of the display. There’s no information about the camera sensor. However, the tipster claims the smartphone will have a 6.55-inch Full HD HDR display. The screen will be flat and feature a 120Hz refresh rate, a 20:9 aspect ratio, 401 PPI desnity, and 2400 x 1080-pixel resolution.
OnePlus 9 to pack the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, 8 GB RAM, and 128 GB onboard storage:
The latest images of the alleged OnePlus 9 smartphone indicate the device will have an all-aluminum chassis. Tell-tale signs of the signature OnePlus Alert Slider are also visible. There’s a rubber seal on the single nanoSIM card tray. However, no reports have offered information about any official IP rating for dust and water protection for the OnePlus 9.
Some additional screenshots of the alleged OnePlus smartphone indicate it is running on a “Lahaina” chipset. This is the strongest indicator of the smartphone packing the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. Complimenting the powerful SoC will be 8GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage.
As expected, the smartphone appears to be running Android 11 with an OxygenOS layer on top. It is however, important to note that the images clearly indicate the device is in pre-production testing, and the final specifications of the OnePlus 9 could change.
