Instagram has launched a Professional Dashboard. The centralized control panel promises to offer deeper insights into the platform. Additionally, creators and businesses can maximize and monetize their platform presence.

Instagram has listened to its content creators and small businesses. The image-based social media platform has offered Professional Dashboard. It is essentially a management overview platform that offers basic performance insight, as well as access to relevant tools.

What is Instagram Professional Dashboard?

Instagram has just launched the Professional Dashboard feature. It is essentially a central repository of tools that content creators and businesses can use to further boost their presence on the platform.

The Professional Dashboard brings all the app’s business tools into a dedicated space in the app. Instagram wants all those who use the social media platform “professionally” to benefit from the same.

This directly means Instagram accounts that identify themselves as a ‘Business’ or ‘Creators’ will have access to the Professional Dashboard. As the social media platform put it: “As part of our ongoing effort to give creators and businesses the tools they need, we are launching Professional Dashboard, a central destination to track performance, access and discover professional tools, and explore educational information curated by Instagram.”

Under the Professional Dashboard, Business and Creators account holders may see shortcuts for branded content partnerships and other monetization features. Meanwhile, a restaurant or shop owner can track their ads or set up shopping features. The dashboard will also key display account analytics and multiple links to tutorials and other helpful or curated articles.

What features does the Professional Dashboard offer?

The new Professional Dashboard offers insights on three key elements:

  • Track Your Performance: Highlights key trends and data notes based on the account performance, including comparative prompts based on past performance stats. Business and Creators account holders can also tap through to the full Insights section.
  • Grow Your Business: This provides quick access to various tools to help manage the account more efficiently, including Badges, Branded Content, and IGTV promotions. Users can also check their accounts’ eligibility for monetization.
  • Stay Informed: This section provides links to Instagram’s latest educational resources, “including tips, tricks, guidance, and inspiration”.

Business and Creators account holders already have access to these tools. In other words, the Professional Dashboard isn’t offering anything new or pathbreaking.

However, the Professional Dashboard does bring all the features together and under a single virtual roof.  Businesses and Creators can now stay on top of the various elements of the platform. With all the features easily and quickly accessible, they can be up to date on all the monetization options and feature updates.

Many professional Instagram users have long requested the Facebook-owned social media platform to give them centralized access to the relevant business tools. Google-owned YouTube has had a powerful and comprehensive dashboard that houses all the relevant creation, engagement, and monetization tools.

It seems Facebook is aggressively trying to boost the business aspect of Instagram. The social media giant recently added shopping features to nearly every section of its app. It also introduced commercials for IGTV videos. Needless to mention, it has to compete with rival platforms such as TikTok, Snapchat, etc.
